The UN proclaimed World Creativity and Innovation Day is celebrated each year on April 21 to raise awareness about their importance in all aspects of human development. The day also signifies the need for making critical-creative thinking a part of children's cognitive development to meet the challenges of sustainable development. The observance is meant to encourage individuals, organizations, and nations to embrace creativity as a tool for solving global challenges and driving innovation.

The UN states, "There may be no universal understanding of creativity. The concept is open to interpretation from artistic expression to problem-solving in the context of economic, social and sustainable development. Therefore, the United Nations designated 21 April as World Creativity and Innovation Day to raise awareness of the role of creativity and innovation in all aspects of human development. Creativity shows who we are and what we value. It helps build a rich mix of cultures and supports social and economic growth," adding that there is a need to encourage transformative power of creativity and innovation in addressing global issues and building a more sustainable future.

An AI Overview informs that creativity and innovation are crucial 21st-century skills that enable individuals to generate novel ideas and implement them effectively. Furthermore, creativity is the ability to think imaginatively and generate new ideas, while innovation is the process of putting those ideas into practice. "These skills are essential for adapting to changing environments, solving complex problems, and driving progress in various fields," it is currently held.

"It's crucial to cultivate these skills through education and training, fostering a culture of experimentation and encouraging individuals to embrace challenges and think creatively. This can involve incorporating hands-on projects, brainstorming sessions, and opportunities for experimentation into the learning process<" adds the AI overview.

Here are the ABC's critical creative thinking

A: Analyzing, evaluating and validating by objectively assessing the pros and cons of or biases in an idea or information to draw reasonable conclusions.

B: Bracing novel and out-of-box ideas or possibilities as solution to a problem at hand and brainstorming helps in it

C: Challenges are accepted to solve complex real life problems to sharpen critical-creative thinking skill as part integrated cognitive processes
