The Sikh community is celebrating the birth anniversary (December 14 in 2020) of Sahibzada Fateh Singh Ji as Sikh festival. Baba Fateh Singh Ji Sahib was the fourth and youngest son of Shri Guru Gobind Singh Sahib and one of the most hallowed martyrs in Sikhism.
He is also revered as the the first Akali-Nihang, a representation of Akal Purakh, by the followers of Sikhism.
This year, the festival is also being celebrated at various sites around Delhi wherein farmers have assembled to protest against 'oppressive anti-farm bills'.
"Fateh Singh Ke Jathe Singh!" is the war cry used by the Akali Nihang for their fight against oppressors with the motto 'Fateh Dharam, Fateh Darshan' or 'Success to Piety, Facing Victory.'
Fatehgarh Sahib is a town of Punjab that has been named after Martyr baba Fateh Singh Sahib who was seized and buried alive along with his brother Zoravar Singh by the Mughals oppressors in the 18th century.
The town has the underground Bhora Sahib marking the location where the two brave brothers refused conversion to Islam and fearlessly accepted being bricked alive to embrace martyrdom.
