Focus on equity of AI market, humans and planet via educational reform : A short note and a Poem
Short Note
In the era of digital technology and artificial intelligence (AI), there is an increasing necessity to cultivate higher-order thinking skills; otherwise, we risk falling into compulsive digital consumerism and addiction. In this context, education must make a paradigm shift towards a more humanistic approach aimed at fostering wisdom, ethics, and compassion among students and AI users for lifelong learning.
If suitable educational reforms are not implemented, AI is likely to lead to a society of reckless consumers of AI who prioritize convenience and ease, as is currently being driven by market forces and those in power for their own control and profit. Education must focus on nurturing students to become rational, reflective, and capable of critical-creative thinking, thereby fostering a harmonious partnership between machines, humans, and the environment.
Therefore, we need to develop a human mindset that directs machines towards equity, intelligence, and empathy. It is essential to humanize education significantly so that the vast new opportunities presented by AI can be transformed into thoughtful and ethical possibilities and responsibilities.
Inspired Poem
Let ethics bloom, let justice rise,
Beyond the glint of profit's eyes.
Let not AI machines define our way,
But raise our thoughts in light of day.
Resist the urge, the selling plea,
To be consumers, blindly free.
Let not AI market hold the reins,
For profit's lure, and power's gains.
Let equity be code, and wisdom bright
Illuminate the pathways they shall tread,
Machines, and humans, earth in harmony,
A future forged for all eternally.
CAUTION QUINTAIN
Western algorithms spin their gold,
Tailored desires, subtly sold,
Developing dreams are hooked and bound,
By digital chains, in silence wound,
Modern serfdom, cheaply told.
