France is celebrating the Bastille Day that marked start of French Revolution

Updated: Jul 15, 2021

France is celebrating the Bastille Day (July 14) as its national holiday which also marks the triggering of French Revolution by the public tired of the rule of their tyrant king.

In Paris, celebrations take place in the form of a military parade at the Champs-Elysees attended by the French president and watching fireworks at night.

"The French Revolution is the ultimate modernist statement. Destroy everything. Don't build on the past. There is no past," remarked John Corigliano indicating that the event was a rebirth of France. According to Thomas Sankara, the French revolution taught citizens the rights of humans.

The French Revolution taught people the value of liberty and human dignity as reveals the quote of Maximilien Robespierre which goes as follows: " The secret of freedom lies in educating people, whereas the secret of tyranny is in keeping them ignorant."

A slightly, modified quote of CLR James would read that tyrant non-heeding rulers, the arrogant 'rich' and powerful 'are only defeated when running for their lives'.

Up-rising for equity

And social justice

It is our birth right -

Liberty with amity

Condemn not tyrants -

Throw them into a dark void

That's divine struggle
