From Shadows to Sunshine: The New Year’s Renewal
In many Eastern culture, New Year Day is meant to look at life reflectively with an openness to renewal and purification with a sense of victory over evil and atonement from vices and imbibe reverence for all sentient beings.
Eastern Insights on New Year Day: Couplets
New dawn breaks, a canvas bright,
Old shadows fade in gentle light.
A turning leaf, a promise made,
New tidings bloom, a sweet cascade.
Strive for new, a mind so clean,
Wash worries out, like morning sheen.
Purify mind, let kindness grow,
Mental evils, softly go.
Atonement sought, for errors past,
A future built, that's meant to last.
Reverence deep, for every soul,
Let love and peace, make us whole.
