Global Peace Pole Day held: May Peace Prevail on Earth

A Peace Pole is a monument that displays the message "May Peace Prevail on Earth” referred to as a peace prayer and has been installed in about 200 countries after the idea was initiated by Masahisa Goi of Japan in 1955. Currently, more than 200,000 monuments as peace poles have been erected across the globe including the North magnetic pole of the earth. In Sanskrit, the message goes as "पृथिव्यां शांति अस्तु" (Prithivyam shanti astu). Facebook friend, Mohini Ghosh informed about the observance with various links for further information.

The observance of the 'Global Peace Pole Day' of 2020 was held on November 22 (Birth anniversary of late Masahisa Goi) to honour his peace legacy with the virtual global peace pole map.
