Go for humanistic education for holistic well-being of learners: Special on World Mental Health Day

Education system and learning processes are needed to foster, nurture and accomplish innate human potential of learning to induce total well-being among learners – Physical, mental and social well-being.

World Mental Health Day is often observed on October 10 with ritualistic messages and events. However, various groups and social institutions must reflect on this day about the effect of their actions on mental health of the recipients of their services.

By and large, the present day education has become a business which is causing a lot of stress to both patents and students. On this day we should reflect on the issue ‘what kind education’ needs to offered as an obligation for learning by students and their well being.

However, well meaning educators and social activists suggest the philosophical foundation of education should be ‘humanism’ and psychological foundation should be ‘positive psychology’ to awaken their overall intelligence and well-being which seen as a part of multiple theory of intelligence.

Here is a non-poem on humanism to get some ideas.
