Grade Nine Artificial Intelligence Syllabus for 2024-25: An Outline

CBSE Grade IX AI Syllabus 2024-25 has 4 Units such as (I) AI Reflection; (II) Project Cycle and Ethics; (III) Basics of Data Literacy and Math for AI (Statistics & Probability)and (IV) Introduction to Generative AI. Units I-III have three sub-units each with 28 topics. The total course is meant to be completed in 150 hours.

Unit-I has topics like Define Artificial Intelligence; The applications of AI in everyday life; and The three domains of AI and their applications

Unit-II has topics like The importance of the AI project cycle; Structure of an AI problem statement with the AI project cycle; The difference between ethics and morality; The ethical scenarios faced while building AI solutions; AI bias and its identification

Unit-III has topics like Data Literacy and its impact; How to become Data literate?; Data security and privacy; Best practices for Cyber Security; Acquiring Data, Processing, and Interpreting Dat; Types of data; Sources of data, Best Practices for acquiring data, Features of data and Data Preprocessing; Importance of Data Interpretation; Tools used for Data Interpretation

UNIT-IV has topics like Introduction to Generative AI; Definition and Overview of Generative AI; Applications and Generative AI Use cases

The CBSE has provided school a handbook on AI to for compute science teachers or science faculty after training to create learning material ans lesson plans to transact various topics in 150 hours along with project work and practical.

In stead of relying on textbooks on AI by private publishers, it would be worthwhile for teachers to develop day-wise lesson plans using the AI tools to set an example
