Guided imagery to enhance mind’s potential to visualise  and self-improve: A short note, formula and haiku


Short Note

Imagery, which is commonly known as visualization, is mind's potential to imagine, and it can be developed, honed and applied to enhance spiritual intelligence and creativity, as well as honed-imagery can be used for healing,  improving performance and take decisions intuitively at spur of the moment. In the field of spirituality, education and sports. . In India guided imagery has be used  to raise one's mind to higher conscious levels through meditation and Dhyan Yoga.


According to Galyean (1981), guided  imagery as applied meditation has been used for educating and training mind to raise itself to higher levels of consciousness; for relaxation; enhance receptivity to new learning and increased mastery on on a skill. Galyean adds that ‘much research is needed to be done in field of use of this potential  in education, sports, self-development ,medicine etc. as approach to learning and training to make ‘imagery activities as as core aspect of standard curriculum.’


The use of guided imagery has also been advocated by Assagoily (1974), Clarks (1975), Gendlin (1978) and Narano & Orenstein (1971) , Indian scripture, the Bhagavad Gita, has called the  that mind can be best friend of a person when restrained and educated through meditation or Dhyan Yoga
