Happiness is inclusive, equitable & harmonious state of mind: Spl on International Day of Happiness

On the occasion of International Day of Happiness, 20 March, the UN has called upon the world community to recognize the 'pursuit of happiness is a fundamental human goal' and make it essential part of 'the public policy objectives.' The need for inclusion of happiness and well-being has been stressed to make a shift toward the a new economic paradigm.

According to the UN, the world needs a new economic paradigm that 'recognizes the parity between the three pillars of sustainable development' and deems that 'social, economic and environmental well-being are indivisible' to define 'gross global happiness.'

Bhutan is the most happy country in the world as per the UN since it recognizes 'the supremacy of national happiness over national income' and has 'adopted the goal of Gross National Happiness over Gross National Product.'

Last year, I had blogged "Make happiness more infectious in the world overwhelmed by scare of COVID-19' which continues be relevant this year too to be be reminded as follows

The world is in grip of scare and worry of containing and controlling COVID-19 infectious disease caused by coronavirus that originated from a particular place. We have got overwhelmed by scare and washed out the celebrations the special days that fell on March 20, namely, the World House Sparrow Day and the International Day of Happiness.

The observance were meant to protect the planet through through recognition of importance of ecological balance and resolve to end poverty and inequalities to cause happiness and well-being of all people.

However, social psychologists and spiritualists believe that happiness is is a state of mind that is created by mind-on-mind practice leading to an inclusive, equitable and balanced or harmonious mind set.
