For a few years, the marching band of the Motilal Nehru School of Sports participated in the Republic Day parades during early 1980s. Earlier, school bands were selected for the national day celebrated on January 26 to commemorate the date in 1950 on which the Constitution of India came into effect. The selected school used to feel proud for being selected for the solemn national event.
On this day, lets revisit some of the quotes of the architect of Indian Constitution, Dr BR Ambedkar, which seem pertinent in the current situation, are follows.
If I find the Constitution being misused, I shall be the first to burn it.
Be Educated! Be Organised! And, Be Agitated!
We must stand on our own feet and fight as best as we can for our rights. So carry on your agitation and organize your forces. Power and prestige will come to you through struggle.
They cannot make history who forget history.
I like the religion that teaches liberty, equality and fraternity
Law and order are the medicine of the body politic and when the body politic gets sick, medicine must be administered.
Political tyranny is nothing...a reformer who defies society is a more courageous man than a politician who defies Government.
