A helium atom is composed of two electrons bound by the electromagnetic force and orbiting around a nucleus containing two protons along with two neutrons held together by the strong force.
It has been found that orbits of the two interacting electrons are characterized by chaotic dynamics and cannot be calculated analytically. However, diagrammatically orbits are represented as ellipses.
Moreover, to understand the dynamics of helium, it is viewed as a microscopic three-body Coulomb system. Since, helium atom cannot be seen, it is better understood with celestial analogy the gravitational three-body system.
