Keep videos precise and targeted on instructional objectives of the class session. Video introduction should be for 40-60 seconds (6-10 sentences)'
A well made video for a lesson of the day should be from 6-10 minutes followed by 30 minute assignment to be done immediately to practice and reinforce learning.
Delimit the content as day-wise sessions and before recording and keep is concise and to the point
Keep a balance of audio (200-300 spoken words), written (100-150 written words on the board for explanation) and visual elements (graphics, drawings and visual codes, pictures for 2-3 minutes for creating mental)
Use a quality microphone and record in high (1280x720) resolution or HD with widescreen 16:9 ratio.
However, an on-line instructor must do a few research lessons to create an appropriate and professional style of conducting reasonable on-line lessons.
Here, I have tried my hand on short one-session video lesson with an intent to improve the next lessons. The video title is '''Solar eclipse mini lesson for CBSE middle school science' and it is a research lesson for middle school science for which the duration of the on-line lesson is less than 10 minutes
