An abstract summarizes briefly one paragraph of 300 words or less, the main aspects of a research paper in a preferred sequence as follows
Introduction/background/context/problem/over-all purpose (a snappy one or two-sentence long statement)
Objectives/line of argument
Methodology/ design of study (method+ sample or context specifications + analytical tool used)/argument's key defending points
Results/findings/outcomes/trends
Conclusion
At times, the conference organizers give the following guidelines for abstract submission
Abstract should clearly define the Introduction, Objectives, Methodology/Study Design, Results or Findings, and Conclusions.
The word limit of the abstract should be 200-250.
It should be typed in Times New Roman font, 12Pt.
The number of keywords should be limited to 5
Many conferences ask for a short biography of the presenting author(s) not exceeding 50 words.
The title of paper should be descriptive since the internet search engines and bibliographic databases for helping and accessing your work by other researchers.
The qualities a good abstract are: cohesiveness, conciseness and clarity.
