Short Note

It is undeniable that the ancient texts from various cultures provide enduring principles for living a virtuous life, regulating emotions, and discovering purpose. To utilize these scriptures as tools for establishing fundamental roots in ethics, spirituality, and value education, we need to develop and implement suitable methods for teaching values, beliefs, and ethics. This inclusive pedagogy should consider the diversity, culture, and context of the students. Consequently, value education must address the realities of multicultural classrooms by honouring the varied, multi-faith backgrounds of students. This necessitates the development of instructional materials at the institutional level and the adoption of inclusive strategies for educators, focusing on how teachers can assist students in their moral, character, values, and spiritual growth.

Inspired Poem

Scriptures, a gentle hand,

Can guide us to a promised land.

Not gold or jewels, but truths so deep,

Secrets the ancient pages keep.

Deep in the words, a wisdom lies,

That opens up our inner eyes.

To what is right, and what is true,

For me, for them, for all of you.

Values they impart,

Deep within the heart.

Beliefs they gently share,

With kindness and with care.

Ethics, a strong guide,

values side by side.

Learn and then be true,

In all you say and do.

With varied faiths and stories we embrace,

We learn to love and honour every face.

No single truth, but many paths we find,

Respecting all with an open, caring mind.

In Summary

Kishore (2026) suggests a framework for integrating inclusive pedagogy with spiritual value education, advocating for a holistic instructional model that embeds moral and diverse values within the standard curriculum rather than treating them as separate subjects. This approach utilizes universal wisdom from texts to foster a ompassionate classroom environment, aiming to move beyond competitive education towards a more equitable and inclusive pedagogy.
