International Tiger Day, in 2010 at the Saint Petersburg Tiger Summit, is observed on 29 July since 2011 to raise awareness for tiger conservation.

The events are going to be subdued in even in Bangladesh, Nepal, and India who have the most population of tigers due to the COVID-19 pandemic

Till last year the worldwide population of tigers was about 3,000 in their natural habitats. However, with the nature recovering due to the pandemic and restriction on human contact, the tigers are going roar loud once more.

This is a global concern over the declining population of wild tiger threatening their extinction despite governmental efforts and that of well known animal organisations like WWF, the IFAW and the Smithsonian Institute.

This year, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, one get involved on-line observation of the event going to be virtual and on Twitter using the hashtag #WorldTigerDay or #InternationalTigerDay .
