This year, amid COVID-2019 pandemic, UNESCO marked the International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPD) with a week-long programme from 25 November to 3 December 2020 under the theme: "Building back better: towards an inclusive, accessible and sustainable post COVID-19 world by, for and with persons with disabilities".
In Jaipur, Disha Foundation, organized its 2nd Edition of International Conference On Disability & Rehabilitation online on 2-4 December as a part of the IDPD week which was inaugurated by the Chief Minister of Rajasthan Ashok Gehlot. He committed his full support for the efforts and initiatives for welfare and safeguard of rights of Divyang Jan or differently abled people
During his key note address at the conference, Dr Lalit Kishore on the concluding day of the IDPD, as a message for the observance said that there was need to improve research and data to serve persons with disability better as well as design and mobilize immediate assistive response for addressing the diverse specific needs of persons with disability in order to improve and maintain effective communication. learning, well being as wells their independence in communities by safeguarding their rights.
