The website, IndianJournals.com, makes a mention of work of Dr Lalit Kishore on environmental education and science education during his stint with Lok Jumbish in 1990s.
It is added that in Lok Jumbish the EVS at primary stage was designed with process-competencies and its transaction was done with discovery approach. The paper in this regard was published in the School Science journal of the NCERT. Also a STEM-education related innovative project with the EVS teachers was given the Commonwealth Award in 1998.
The process-competency based textbook of Lok Jumbish called "Khoji Pothi" for grades three to five had demonstration of lost cost experiments as well as investigations to explore and construct knowledge.
However, the EVS books were not mainstreamed after the project was over despite the international recognition of the work of Lok Jumbish Project.
