J Krishnamurti on true education that deconditions and frees: A non-poem

Note: The non-poem is abstracted from the book "The Whole Movement of Life is Learning" by J. Krishnamurti as preview. The book can be had from Krishnamurti Foundation Trust [1]

NON-POEM

True education-

Is freedom from conditioning

Says J. Krishnamutri -

The seer who walked alone

Parental, societal and job demands

Coupled with competitive learning environment

Have created difficult times for students

Caught between their own desire for freedom

To do what they want

And society’s demands for conformity

To its own necessities

Leading to a dreary, narrow and meaningless

Existence for students

The real issue of education

Is the quality of mind

That encounters the dispensed knowledge

For conditioning

So, education is needed to seen as

Unfolding the infinite potential

Infinite energy

Of mind

In tune with

Infinite nature of the cosmos

Education must not condition the mind

To accumulated disciplinary knowledge

Rather create a mind

That is everlastingly free

That understands the essence of learning

As a constant movement
