Kirigami is a type of origami that involves cutting and folding of paper. No use of glue is allowed. So, kirigami is cut-and-fold single paper craft to create a model or sculpture.

Any type of paper can be used, however, thinner paper is recommended for the beginners and the kids. Water colour papers can be used after the skill or model has been perfected with ordinary paper.

The tools for this craft are paper and scissors. It is advisable to to plot or draw the design or template first on the folded paper. Cut along the template lines and fold cut portions in different ways such as, up, down, left, right, in, out, alternatively or other sequence pattern to get the sculptures.

Display the models and illuminate them to get a sense of creativity and aesthetics..

Here in the video with the link (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ANXluPNVEGI) is the the example how I began with kirigami and created a DIY micro video.
