World Photography Day (2026, August 19) has assumed the status of the 'World's Largest Celebration of Photography' which this year is being as an extended event from August 12 to August 26. The organizers urge people to share their best photos on social media using hashtag #WorldPhotographyDay and #WorldPhotographyWeek!
When, this blogger, Dr Lalit Kishore, started exploring photography a a learning tool, he started posting his pics on flickr.com which is 'a popular image and video hosting platform and online community founded in February 2004.'
Flickr,com is deemed to be 'The best place to be a photographer online.' Flickr claims to be the largest collection of Creative Commons-licensed imagery on earth. "Come get inspired and join the fun," urges Flickr.
