Leadership and management are different yet work well together as complimentary aspects. Leaders aim to create a long-term vision, promote innovation, and inspire change, while managers focus on implementing that vision through planning, ensuring operational stability, and improving processes. It's important to recognize that leadership involves crafting a future vision, motivating team members to accept change, and questioning the norm to foster creativity and innovation. Managers take that broad vision and break it down into specific tasks, organize resources, and enforce processes to help the team achieve short-term goals effectively and consistently. They utilize their formal authority and established procedures to coordinate tasks and track performance indicators such as budgets and deadlines. On the other hand, leadership is based on personal influence, trust, and empathy, relying on qualitative measures like employee morale and engagement. In contrast, management is closely linked to a formal title or position of authority within the organization.

Creating a common vision; Organising team work for actions to accomplish

In Summary
Kishore (2026) outlines how leadership focuses on vision and inspiration, while management ensures operational efficiency, with both acting as complementary, indispensable functions for organizational success. He emphasizes that leaders drive change through influence, managers maintain stability through structure, requiring a blend of both for effective performance. Thus, leadership and management are distinct yet complementary functions essential for organizational success, focusing respectively on vision, people and execution and processes. While leadership inspires change and fosters culture, management ensures stability and operational efficiency, with optimal performance achieved when both skill sets are harmonized.
