The Sikku or knotted points-rangoli uses the part of dot grid unlike the usual rangoli which makes use of all the dots of the grid. Experts in this floor art, draw the patterns freestyles as snake-like lines.
However, for kids, to enhance their visual and coordination skills, I have tried reverse rangoli beginning with shapes first, followed by knotted lines (straight, curved and bent)
Procedure for kids
Draw the starting shape
Mark the points where the line knots should appear
Draw the bending stokes
Draw the the lines to complete the pattern
Example
Study the successive drawing example of Sikku Rangoli
Try-out
Redraw yourself the rangoli
Exercises
