Writer's picture: Lalit KishoreLalit Kishore

The disconnected or disjointed line drawing illustration or modelling on the chalk board or white board by the teachers. It has been recommended that first one draw the rows of lines of different shapes and then give vertical and slant and / or disjointed stroke to create a recognizable shape of an object ( Read the collage).

Such kind of drawings can be useful for creating picture symbols for classroom learning, enhancing visual perception, eye-coordination skills for children with special needs, cognitive development through sequencing, acquiring visual literacy and enhancing ability to for drawing neat diagrams.

I have found that non-art use of the art elements can enliven classroom instruction for children across the ability range since about 70 percent children are visual learners.

A GIF was created on Labour Day making use of disjointed lines as a non-art use of art.
