Although the conventional structure of poetry is meant to excite emotions, feelings, values, life-messages and imagination through language art aesthetics, however, the elements of poetry have been used for non-poetry uses such as therapy, cognitive aspect of vocabulary building, memorisation, brain workouts and mindfulness or awareness about the knowledge structure of various academic disciplines.
For the didactic use of poetry, relate specific text of a discipline, specially its glossary, to six-word poem creations since it allows meaningful reading and identification of words to fit into structure of the proposed poetry.
Here are three six-word poems on force
Force / pull, push / changing shape, velocity
force - / vector quantity / magnitude and direction
Newton / force's unit / in SI system
Measure's / vector product / metres per second-squared
For classroom use, give a text sheet to students and to write six-word verses and make them share work.
