MOTHER’S DAY: AN ACROSTIC ON ‘MOTHER’ AS A TRIBUTE TO REVERED MOTHERHOOD

Mother’s Day is being observed on May 8 (being the first Sunday of the month) amidst the COVID dread and many of us be missing our mothers and our childhood days under their care.

On the other hand, on this day, many mothers relive their feeling of motherhood and contribution they have made or making to the society.

“Motherhood means sacrifice and pain from day one of conception. But this pain and sacrifice brings forward a beautiful feeling in a woman after she finds that her children are happy and healthy. That is the only reward she desires from her children. And that is motherhood,” says CD Mohatta.

According to Rebecca Garland, there is no limit to what could be considered motherhood. While addressing mothers, she adds, “When your child was happy, you practically cried from joy yourself. Motherhood heightened the emotions we felt and exploded the limits of what we thought was possible in life.”

Hamilton Wright holds that a true mother loves her child most divinely.

Here is an acrostic on MOTHER on Mother’s Day.

M: Maternal kinship between offspring and the mother

O: Optimistic about future of progenies

T: Tender and compassionate person

H: Humanizing effect

E: Epitome of pure love for her children

R: Resolutely holds a feeling of sacrifice for her children
