“The poems and songs of pre-school children should be created by the teachers and educators themselves to be related to the context and development stage of children. The poems should be short up to lines and not having more than four words in each line," stated Jaipur based pedagogue and researcher at a focus group meeting at BN Society, Chaksu, on March 24.

The working group consisting of Rama Sharma, Giriraj Sharma and Chandra Prakash created and adapted poems for children in the age group 3-5 years. Since, the problem is being encountered in teaching of English; the first lot of 12 poems was documented and put in use-able format for trialing.

It was decided to try out the poems during teacher training and also carry out a lesson study in a pre-school.

The members of the focus-cum-working group are shown in the collage who would also be involved in teacher training and classroom trials.
