Kurukshetra, June 27- “The global citizenry including Indians have to accept the realities of economic crisis in terms of slow growth rate and recession in the global economy which calls for understanding and adopting needonomics”, opined Former Vice Chancellor M.M. Goel, known as needonomist Professor retired from Kurukshetra University . He was delivering the presidential address of the KVG Memorial webinar on the topic ‘Understand Needonomics as Path of Revival for Global Economy’ organized by Indian Institute of World Culture (IIWC), Bengaluru jointly with Dr KVG Trust.
Needonomics (economics of needs) is based on the logo of LIC of India ‘Yogakshemam Vahamyaham’(Your welfare is our responsibility) which is nonviolent, ethical and spiritual in nature and says no to greed authenticating economic thoughts of Mahatma Gandhi , explained Professor Goel.
Global economy can be made consumer friendly by adopting NAW (Need, Affordability and Worth) approach of international marketing of the goods and services, believes Professor Goel.
For revival of the economy, we need street smart citizenry as consumers, producers, distributors and traders, told Professor Goel.
