Now there is an 'International Haryana Day' too: Report Ex-Raists from Australia and Indonesia

Haryana Day observance in Australia is undertaken by the Association of Haryanvis in Australia, AHA, (Est:2018) with enthusiasm, verve and zest to display the culture of Haryanvi dances, songs, poem, jokes, comedy, humour etc., along with honouring the noteworthy contribution of people originally from Haryana in the development of Australia.


One may recall that the Haryana Day marks the formation of the Indian State of Haryana through a trifurcation of the Punjab state on 1st November 1966. Accordingly, this year, the Haryanvies are commemorating the 54th birth anniversary of Haryana.


Hardworking and professional Ex-Raist in Australia are promoting the spirit of Haryanvi culture of brotherhood, perseverance, industriousness and multiculturalism among Haryanvis and their future generations. Another body that is promoting Haryanvi bonding in the country is the Haryana Society of Western Australia (HSWA).


Bobby Lakra, Ex-Raist, from Australia, reported in his facebook post that "INTERNATIONAL HARYANA DAY CELEBRATIONS 2020" is going to organized via online platform owning to the COVID-19 restrictions. However, several bodies from across the globe including countries like India, Australia, US, UK, Canada, , etc. are going to participate in the form of a 'Festival celebrating formation of Haryana by Haryanvis all over the world.'



Earlier, there were reports that Ex-Raist Indu Nadal that she along with other Haryanvies had been organising the event of Haryana Day in Jakarta of Indonesia (see inset picture). Indu is versatile performer of Haryanvi folk dances who also made her presence felt on the educational scene of Indonesia. She is a scribe as well who contributes articles in various periodicals in that country.
