On using case analysis in education to accommodate learning-challenged children in teaching-learning process

A case analysis in social sciences and life sciences is a thorough study of a problem, a challenge or an issue by using evidences to propose viable or feasible solutions and provide recommendations on an effective way to implement solutions for desired results.

In education, case analysis is done to design individualised education plan or intervention for a specific child who has learning difficulties. The case is studied thoroughly studied, examined and diagnosed for designed remedial interventions to mitigate the problem.

It makes use of documentary evidences, case history, direct observation, behaviour-event narrations, informal and structured interviews, questionnaires, etc., within a positivistic and constructive paradigm of diagnosis for mitigating problem and solution or alternative finding.

Also, analyze the internal and external environment / conditions in which the case is situated, combine the diagnosis of an individual along with that of environment to suggest solutions or alternatives for try out, review and follow-up.

In education, case analysis is treated as part of action research method, to improve the teaching practice on behest of teachers and learning outcomes for the individual learner.
