OSHO ON CULTURAL FESTIVALS: VIEW POINT AND A POEM

VIEW POINT

Renowned spiritualist Osho believed that cultural festivals are essential social remedies for our everyday, mundane, and joyless lives. He pointed out that a genuinely aware person celebrates each moment, not just during special occasions. He encouraged extracting deep insights from festivals to turn life into a continuous celebration instead of viewing it as an occasional ritual.

Osho contended that society, in its materialistic orientation, makes life tedious. Festivals serve as a means offering a chance for deep reflection and personal growth towards inner happiness. He revitalized the practice of meditation during festivals by merging meditation, dance, and music to foster a celebratory environment. He stressed the importance of transitioning from the old to the new through dance, meditation, and being present.

INSPIRED POEM

The world awakes, a vibrant, festive hue,

A time for hearts to pause and spirits mend,

To find within, a strength both strong and true,

Where worldly cares and inner journeys blend.

These special days, chances to start anew,

With patience learned, and focus clear and bright,

To build a soul of character, it's true,

And conquer darkness with compassion's light.

They teach us self-control, beyond the fast,

A path to inner joy and good deed,

And cultivate a gratitude that's vast,

A fellowship of hearts, a planted seed.

So let us share, and in this giving find,

A deeper peace within the human mind.

IN CONCLUSION

Numerous festivals from different cultures were established to serve as a spiritual reset, fostering reflection, patience, harmony, and enhanced focus. They create chances for balancing external actions with internal development. Additionally, they provide time to cultivate character, resilience, and compassion, imparting vital lessons in discipline, empathy, and mindfulness.

Most festivals encourage fasting, which teaches self-control over habits and emotions. They are designed to cultivate deep gratitude and fellowship, reinforcing community ties through sharing and caring. We need to celebrate all the cultural festivals in true spirit.
