The 11th International Gita Conference is being held in two major phases in 2026. In the first phase, an overseas edition is being held in Japan and Indian edition of academic conference is going to be hosted by Kurukshetra University in Haryana as a part of Gita Jayanti Mahotasava, informs an AI prompt.

International Gita Mahotsav, Japan Edition, is being held on June 19 – 23, 2026, in Tokyo and Osaka in Japan with the theme "Wisdom for Peace and Harmony" of which one-day International Gita Seminar is a part. The seminar is being organized at the ITO International Research Center at the The University of Tokyo on June 20, 2026. The event is a joint initiative of the International Gita Mahotsav committee and the Embassy of India to promote universal values.

The 11th International Gita Seminar at Kurukshetra is going be held in the last week of November in Kurukshetra University (KUK) campus. This three-day academic gathering will consist of a grand inaugural session followed by technical sessions across various departments such as Law, UIET, Management, Sanskrit, Tourism, etc., to discuss the contemporary relevance of the Bhagavad Gita.

It is being said that the Japan edition is going to bring together 'scholars, spiritual leaders, educators, professionals, and devotees from across the world to explore how the teachings of the Gita can guide humanity towards peace, harmony, and sustainable living.' by promoting universal values of dharma (duty), selfless action (karma yoga), peace and harmony among nations

The conference's articulated vision and mission are as follows

Vision: To inspire humanity through the timeless teachings of the sacred Gita, guiding individuals toward purposeful living, inner peace, selfless action, spiritual growth, and harmony in personal and global life

Mission: To promote global harmony through cultural values and spiritual teachings, strengthening India–Japan relations, encouraging youth participation, and spreading ethical living, peace, and unity worldwide.

From the content analysis of the foregoing, the message of the Gita can be summarized as follows.

The Bhagavad Gita outlines a life of detached action, centering on performing one's Swadharma (duty) as a selfless, divine act of worship. It emphasizes rigorous self-control and detachment from outcomes, transforming work into a spiritual endeavor rather than a source of anxiety. Ultimately, the text calls for seeing oneself as an instrument of the Divine, promoting inner tranquility and universal harmony. (Kishore, 2026)
