Parents petition against reopening of schools since unlocking has shown in surge in COVID cases

According UNESCO, the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted 154 crore students worldwide due to closure of educational institutions and girls education is worst hit with increased drop-out rates and wider gender gaps in education in some countries.

After lockdown phase, in India unlock phases have started and most probably, in August 2020, the reopening of educational institutions may be taken up with all the precautions with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

However, many parents groups are opposing it and have petitioned urging the government to not reopen school until 'Zero COVID Cases’ stage is reached and vaccine is found. The petitioners have equated re-opening of schools with 'playing with fire'.

Here a limerick on the re-opening of school as a part of 'Unlocking Phase'
