Under Cambridge education programme, it is expected of students to learn about 'presentation skills' through planning, structuring and delivering an effective presentation to be evaluated·
However, the skills for presentation are to learnt under the guidance of the teacher as a part of the flexible assessment structure of the curriculum that leads to effective learning of subject knowledge with an ability to think critically.
The idea is to improve oral presentation skills, interactive skills, media utility skills, poster and lay-out designing skills, public speaking skills. The multimedia posters, chart-paper, white board and digital posters can be prepared.
For two students, the art-integrated physics posters (Physical quantities and properties of waves) were planned.
Preparatory phase: Discussion with art and physics teachers to finalize topic and learning of visual skills
Planning phase: Layout designing and collecting text and visuals from various sources
Designing presentation: Preparing poster and rehearsing oral skills
Presentation phase: Display and interaction; projection; question-answer
Evaluation phase and feedback report
Multimedia posters can include the following
text,
photos, micro-videos / GIFS,
graphics / cutouts / clipping /
sounds or commentary,
drawings / artwork,
data, and
more
The skills for presentation through mixed media can make presentation effective for which systemic preparation of the presentation and its delivery are rquired. Currently, presentations are the part of work-life in most professions.
