Of late, many examination boards worldwide have been emphasizing development of presentation skills and their assessment.
"Speaking in proper technical language with intonation, pauses and voice modulation is essential for developing presentation and interactive skills," says action researcher at the Plenum School in .Himachal Pradesh.
"Various subject teachers are required to be proficient in their own presentation skills to be able to develop such skills among students and assess them (students) reliably," he adds while preparing students in art-integrated presentation with the help of the Art Teacher Umang.
According to Style [1], though patterns are everywhere, but often the surface designing is overlooked. However, the minimalization have superseded by the 'riot of colours and shapes' on various surfaces. He is of the view that 'prints and patterns' can include ', graphics, cards, gift wraps, stationery, cremains, textiles, etc.'
Some aspects that are useful for training students in presentation skills could be as follows.
Emphasize proper language development and proficiency in schools to learn well all subjects by all
It is a well known fact that language is the basic tool for human beings to name, recognize, organize experience, communicate, and reflect upon themselves and the world around them.
Language is the codified form of verbal and visual thinking. Thus language is necessary to learn. Proficiency in language is required because of the following reasons: For children with special needs, language learning has to be phonetically sound, micro-learning based, multi-modal and multi-sensory with a protocol of transaction linked with diagnosis and corrective over-learning, my research experience at Disha in Jaipur informs.
Language mastery is required for the following purposes.
To know, understand and remember subject matter
To communicate using different modes and solve problems
To learn to integrate various subjects or knowledge areas
Therefore language skills and language arts are the bedrock subjects to learn all other knowledge areas. Language is also the mind’s voice to tell the experience to others.
