Short Note
According to Eastern philosophy and spirituality, the ego is regarded as the fundamental cause, creator, source, and basis of all conflicts, dilemmas, strife, and sorrows. Additionally, the ego embodies our social and cultural conditioning, which is shaped by the transient physical and sensual world. Consequently, the ego is considered the most harmful worldly samskara—a mere shadow of a mind molded by experiences of worldly conditioning. In such circumstances, only self-actualized practices of non-reaction and equanimity can assist us in escaping the ego trap.
Attaining liberation from the ego-mind results in a self-realized state of consciousness. Therefore, making de-conditioning your life's primary objective is essential for achieving an ego-free, unconditional mind. Recognize that an ego-free mind represents our true, eternal self and take action. Purify your mind of all the negativity stemming from an egoistic perspective to attain self-realization, as only a mind free from ego can nurture genuine soulfulness.
COUPLETS
The "I" we build, a useless wall,
Creates the strife, and causes all.
From world it grows, from what we see,
Conditioned minds, that aren't truly free.
A gloomy shape, a worldly stain,
The ego binds, again, again.
But watch and wait, don't rise to bait,
With calm and peace, seal ego's fate.
Let reactions cease, find equal ground,
Where ego's chains are unbound.
When "I" departs, and peace takes hold,
A self-realized truth unfolds.
To shed the "I," the false pretense,
That's life's true goal, its recompense.
The "I" discarded, soul takes flight,
Our timeless self, bathed in pure light.
