The Negative Space Photography is an unconventional photography in which the area surrounding the subject or close subjects have no other things - a bland or empty space.
The subject related area is called positive space which becomes the focus of the camera. The large unoccupied space is called negative or peripheral space which is least interesting.
At times, the blurred vast space work as negative space.
At other times, the negative space can be the foreground or background
however, many photographers prefer the negative space on the sides.
Subjects on jetties and ledges, in water bodies or those flying in sky provide situations for negative space photography.
In studio negative space is created by spot lighting from sides on a single subject.
