On World Heart Day, 29 September 2020, we need to revisit our life style and make a shift towards maintaining a healthy heart in these unprecedented times caused by the COVID-19 pandemic crisis.
SHORT NOTE
Heart behaves like pump located slightly at left side of the chest between the two lungs. Its right side of your heart receives oxygen-poor (de- oxygenated) blood from your veins and pumps it to your lungs for picking up oxygen and removal of carbon dioxide.

The left side of heart receives oxygen-rich (oxygenated) blood from your lungs and pumps it through your arteries to body parts.
The four major functions of the heart are:
Transporting nutrients, gases and waste products around the body
Protecting the body from infection and blood loss
Maintaining the body and its temperature or performing thermoregulation
Maintaining proper fluid balance within our body
Names of the three layers of tissue form the heart wall are as follows.
Outer layer is called epicardium
Middle layer is called myocardium,
Inner layer is called endocardium.
