Thanksgiving Days are around in the West

Thanksgiving feasts, festivals, parades and celebrations are held in many Western countries in the months of October and November to honour the harvest of the season before the severe winter sets in. The events begin with giving thanks and celebrating the toil in the farms resulting into bounty and blessings of the harvest.

Thanksgiving is a national holiday, which is celebrated on various dates, in the United States, Canada and Western Countries with the pumpkin pie as the main desert.

It is also celebrated in many Latin American countries such as Brazil, Grenada, Saint Lucia and Liberia. Furthermore, the day is observed in Leiden, Norfolk Island, and Puerto Rico too.

Currently, Thanksgiving Parades are held by the market forces and many departmental stores to commercialize the celebrations.

Here are some thanksgiving sayings and phrases.

  • Give thanks with a grateful heart

  • Pumpkin spice and everything nice

  • Pumpkin kisses and harvest wishes

  • Eat, drink, and be thankful

  • Let our lives be full of both thanks and giving

  • Get your pie on!

  • Keep calm, gobble on and count your blessings
