The full moon on October 31 this year is the Blue Moon for name sake alone

The full moon on October 31 in 2020 is being called the Blue Moon, which is not blue in colour but but called so because of its coincidence with Halloween festival and being the second full moon of the same month in a few time zones. Being a rare event, it has been named so.

This type of situation comes seldom that is why it is called Blue Moon. the idiom 'once in blue moon' is derived from this event. This time, in entire US, it is the Blue Moon. In case you see a moon appearing in pics, they are photoshopped or fake.

Thus, foe the Blue Moon to take place, a Full Moon must occur at the beginning of the month and the time lapse between two successive Full Moons being 29.5 days. This kind of situation occurs once in while in some time zones.

In many Western Countries, the moon tonight is blue for name sake and would be seen at some time close to the Mars during the night.

Inset collage shows the moon in the sky of Jaipur on October 31.
