World Health Day (WHD) is celebrated each year on April 7 to mark the anniversary of the founding of the World Health Organization (WHO). The theme for WHD 2026 is "Together for health. Stand with science," emphasizing evidence-based, collaborative action to protect global health. The aim of the observance is to draw attention to key public health concerns, ranging from chronic diseases to environmental health, and to encourage action toward healthier living. The WHO has called on governments and the public to trust facts, support science-led health for people and the planet, and rebuild trust in public health. WHO maintains that Health refers to a state of physical, social, emotional and mental wellbeing and not merely free from diseases The UN promotes 'One Health' programme which is 'an integrated, unifying approach that aims to sustainably balance and optimize the health of people, animals and ecosystems.' WHO states, "By linking humans, animals and the environment, One Health can help to address the full spectrum of disease control – from prevention to detection, preparedness, response and management – and contribute to global health security." The fist slogans is: "Choose evidence. Trust facts. Support science-led health, for people, animals, and the planet" and second slogan is: "Ask. Share. Stand with science." " Governments and institutions are called to strengthen investment in science, support WHO’s normative role, and embed evidence in health, climate, food, and environmental decision-making," urges the WHO
