Transforming stick puppets from cut-outs as therapeutic experience for children with disabilities

Children with disabilities should be given experience of cutting and sticking skills with cut-outs by creating templates. An experience of drawing cut-outs of the parts of a buffalo was given to the child of dysgraphia'


Procedure



The following steps was undertaken (see inset collage)


  • Modeled drawing of the parts of the animal (body, head, tail, legs)

  • Cutting of parts with rounded scissors

  • Assisted sticking and stapling of parts

  • Making of paper stick and securing it to the body of the animal

  • Holding the stick in wrap grasp and moving the stick puppet up-and-down and to-and-fro
