Two C'wealth Awards-2020 won by Indian educators & third by Nigerian, new award added for 2021


The Commonwealth Association of Science, Technology and Mathematics Educators (CASTME), in their News Update No.1, March 2021, inform that the thee CASTME Awardees for 2020 are Sarath Premawardana (India), Professor Ibiyinka Ogunlade (Nigeria) and Dr Lalit Kishore (India).


It has been reported that for the 2021, another award has been added to raise the tally to four awards in all. According to CASTME, the fourth award is ‘The Findel CASTME Protect Our Planet Award’ to be presented to a STEM project which focuses on Sustainable Development Goals.


New Sustainability Award 2021. The earlier awards, onhe Findel CASTME Education Award and two Community Awards will continue as usual. "The Findel CASTME Protect Our Planet Award (will be) Presented to a STEM project which focuses on the Sustainable Development Goals such as Climate Change, Responsible Consumption and Clean Water," it is stated.


"CASTME) was established in 1974 as an NGO recognized by the Commonwealth Secretariat. It is a member of the Commonwealth Council for Education (CCfE). It has a dedicated website https://www.castme.online/ and in collaboration with Philip Harris/Findel makes awards, in 2021, the Education Award, the Protect Our Planet Award, and the Community Award," inform the award scheme organizers who support the UN Sustainable Development Goals, especially SDG4 (Education) and SDG5 (Gender), and share best practices in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education for all age groups, to demonstrate the relevance of STEM to local environments and to promote the relationship between them.
