Understanding micro-learning approach to classroom instruction: ABCs of micro-learning

Based on the work of this blogger, the ABCs of micro-learning, also, known as micro-credential approach to learning which is equally viable for mono-grade, multi-grade, multilevel school organization is culled out as follows.


ABCs of micro-learning

A: Approach to learning with a designed small episodic module for usual one class-session or period of 20-40 minutes with a single learning objective, competency statement or topic with descriptive title


B: Based on breaking up the content into bite-sized daily chunks of knowledge to enhance attentiveness and understanding ; promote higher retention and success rates.


C: Capable of addressing the challenge posed by diverse learning paces of students by linking it to mastery level or criterion quality of learning as success-bar and formative assessment


D: Designing daily learning material and episodic lesson planning across teacher-directed learning, peer-group learning and individual practice or reinforcements happen the class-session itself


E: Evolutionary curriculum organization as short course covering a specific topic or skill or a series of short credential modules covering course of an academic session.
