The review analysis of the paper “Science and Mathematics Activities with Discarded Tetrapaks at Upper Primary Level” of this blogger, which was published in the School Science journal published by the National Council for Educational Research and Training (NCERT), led to the extended use of different packing materials for Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics (STEAM) activities in which art and craft with such material was experimented with to produce utility and decorative items along with learning the concepts of other academic disciplines at the school level.
It may be added that the creative ideas generated by children can lead to recycling, reuse and up-cycling of such discarded materials which can be linked to the awareness about mitigating climate change and reducing pollution at the local level.
The review of the paper, which was rated as 'editor's choice', that implicated integrating school curricula with STEM and STEAM education were viable for creating awareness for sustainable development as an innovation at the general education level.
