What kind of child art is suitable for children with special needs?

Child art is a term created by Franz Cižek to cover 'the drawings, paintings, or other artistic works' created by children that 'reflected their level of self-awareness and the degree to which they are integrated with their environment,' as per Wikipedia post.

Child art for children with special needs has be different rather the forced artwork based on realism and symbolism by adults as teachers and care-givers; it has to be more toward smudging, scribbling, doodling, random stroking, etc., so as to use for non-art and and therapeutic benefits.

For example, at Disha Foundation in Jaipur, doodling by CWSN was decorated by writing stroke patterning with slow and broken movements to create awareness, improve coordination skills and make writing legible by children with mild disabilities.

The purpose and agenda of applied art education for children with special needs has not been discussed seriously in the professional circles and conferences yet since cognition and appreciation of children towards aesthetic sense is hardly present.
