World Science Day 2025 Observed: A Message and a Poem

Message World Science Day 2025, coordinated by UNESCO, was observed on November 10 to highlight the role of science in society and its contribution to 'peace and development.' UNESCO looks at science is a means for building a more sustainable and peaceful world. We must promote scientific literacy among masses and leaders that pertains to understanding basic scientific vocabulary, concepts and processes to make informed rational decisions in personal, civic, and professional life and not to fall prey to orthodoxy, pseudoscience, blind followership, and superstitions.

Scientific literacy: A poem The world's a puzzle, big and bright, With science tools, we find the light. Think it through a rational mind, New facts you'll find, of every kind. Seek truth with open mind, Leave old beliefs behind. Question, test, and then decide, Let reason be your guide. With science as your trusted friend, A richer life without end!
