World Senior Citizens Day: Poster as non-art has an immense pedagogical possibilities

I celebrated World Senior Citizens' Day (Aug 21, 2021) as an elderly person (75) with doodling decorated contextual visual symbols and texted poster as shown in Exhibit-1.

EXHIBIT-1:Use of poster on the observance with message

WHAT IS POSTER?

Poster art is a printable or printed artwork to be put up on vertical surface to convey some message exclusively as image(s) or image(s) with text.

One variety of poster exclusively consists of calligraphically done textual graphic.

Posters are an applied art form that is also considered as non-art application of art or specific elements of art. These days poster art has confined itself for politics and advertisement.

PEDAGOGICAL POSSIBILITIES

However, they are immense pedagogically advantages but are hardly used for classroom instruction. Sketch-note inspired posters with academic text have bee used by some educators for inclusive classrooms.

I have used non-art in a Jaipur based special school that combined doodle art and visual symbols since most students are visual learners.

Here in the inset visual (Exhibit 2), there is a description of non-art.
