World Sparrow Day: Conserve house sparrow and biodiversity

World Sparrow Day (20 March) is observed 'to raise awareness of the house sparrow and then other common birds to urban environments, and of threats to their populations.' The observance was jointly initiated by the Nature Forever Society ( headed by conservationist Mohammed Dilawar) of India and the Eco-Sys Action Foundation (France) and is now supported by numerous national and international organisations across the globe.

According to initiators and coordinators of the observance since 2008, the aim is 'to convey the message of conservation of the house sparrow and other common birds and also mark a day of celebration to appreciate the beauty of the common biodiversity which is taken so much for granted.'

Here are my images which had been used earlier to spread the message of conservation of house sparrows and other small birds.
