World Thinking Day-2021 was observed on the 22nd February by social groups, educators, psychologists, youth groups and social groups such as scouts and girls guides.
The World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts that coordinates the observance selected the theme "Stand Together for Peace" this year and paid tributes to Scouting and Guiding founder Lord Robert Baden-Powell and of Lady Olave Baden-Powell.
The observance is being held since 1926 as a day of enhancing international friendship among the youth. According to organizers of the observance, the focus is on highlighting the issues that affect the young people along with fundraising activities for 10 million guides and scouts in 150 countries across the world.
However, for educational institutions, the observance has the implications for laying emphasis on teaching higher order thinking skills and go for full cognitive development and whole brain education strategies, I feel.
